Construction engineering is the engineering discipline concerned with projects involving the construction of buildings, bridges, roads, and other public works. It is a rapidly growing and highly competitive field of study for engineers. It deals with all aspects of infrastructure construction and management.

As a field of study, construction engineering takes the form of a series of specialized certifications. These include construction management and supervision, design and analysis, construction management and supervision, construction engineering, soil engineering, environmental engineering, structural engineering, and project management. Each of these certifications requires different types of education and training.

If this is the case, the applicant must show a fair amount of previous experience and previous references to ensure that the company will hire them.

Architects and engineers can also find themselves working in government offices and departments, although today’s work involves more advanced and complicated designs.
